Southern BBQ: “Bawlmore” Style

Being a college student has its perks– eating lots of food, meeting new people, and exploring a new area.  Despite of these benefits, sometimes you can get stuck in a rut where you see the same stuff and people a little too often.  A recent outing brought me out of the bubble and to a barbecue wonderland– Andy Nelson’s BBQ.  The chicken was slow-roasted in the Carolina-way with succulent sauce (barbecue or carolina/mustard) that can be added in various amounts to fire-up the taste buds.  The baked beans were brimming with smoky flavor.  The cornbread– well, just make sure to order more servings of it as an additional side.  The only bummer was the potato salad, too mushy and full of mustardy-mayo to accompany the rest of Andy Nelson’s fine BBQ fare.

It’s located about 15 minutes outside of Towson (11007 York Road Cockeysville, MD) and is open on weekdays from 10 AM to 8 PM and 10 AM to 9 PM on the weekends.  Oh and did I mention that that the portions are huge and the food is cheap?
